Quick update..and I do mean quick

Alright so things were supposed to be a simple "outpatient" surgery yesterday. Yeah well I don't think "simple and slattery's" should ever be used in a sentence.

Dan's surgery went fine and was just as quick as they thought it would be. And then the scary part started....his body decided that it like the anesthesia so much that he didn't have to breath. If someone was talking to him, he would breath fine..the minuted he would go back to sleep which was alot because he couldn't keep himself awake his O2 stat would instantly drop super low. So they tried everything they could "think" of at the surgery center...breathing treatment..trying to get him up to walk..etc.

They finally decided they needed to transport him to the hospital. Once there they had him on oxygen and did all kinds of tests..chest xray, ct scan, blood work, EKG. They wanted to make sure that he didn't have a blood clot. Our family doctor was glad all the test came back good. At that point they just kept him on oxygen and let him rest. Around 4 am on Friday he finally decided he was going to come out of it. The doctor said he just was over sedated.

I was able to bring him home when his room oxygen O2 stat stayed in the 90's. Now that he is home he seems to be doing fine. We are now in the pain management stage, so he is just resting still.
