It once again seems quite impossible that the end of the year is upon us again. Just a blink of an eye ago we were sailing on the Disney Wonder, and enjoying Christmas in Houston with the besties.
So just a recap of 2014.
January was spent with me not feeling so well due to a Bells Palsy attack. It has now been determined that there is permanent nerve damage, and so depending on how tired I am, determines how much my face and eye work. Good times! The girls spent January doing make-up work from our Christmas trip, followed by semester exam.
February, March and April were just everyday life kind of months. We don't get those very often so to have three in a row was definitely a blessing.
May brought the beginning of the end of high school for Shelbylyn. The girls spent lots of time doing school projects and studying for semester exams. Courtney fell during P.E. class and broke her right foot. She was in a walking boot for six weeks and became a pro with her crutches.
June was filled with lots of family visiting for Shelbylyn's high school graduation from Shadow Ridge High School. A milestone that came up way to fast. Our house was overflowing into several hotels with all the friends and family that came to celebrate with us. After graduation, we took a week long trip to California. We played on the beach, went to Hollywood and had a blast at Knott's Berry Farm.
July was hot! The three younger girls flew to Wyoming to spend almost three weeks with grandparents and cousins, while Dan, Shelbylyn and I stayed home and worked. Darn real world! We did fly to Wyoming for a weekend to attend a family reunion for my dad's side of the family which was a lot of fun. I am so glad we went. It was also a hard month because our dear Chewy passed away. He was such a huge part of our family, and after 14 years it was beyond heartbreaking.
August was quickly upon us and we spent time moving Courtney into Delanie's room and getting her room ready for Thea our exchange student from Norway. On August 17th Thea arrived and we have been overwhelming her with our crazy American family ever since. I can't believe 4 months have past, and I don't even want to let her go home! School started and we were quickly back to early bed times and getting up super early.
September was spent getting into the routine of school. It was still HOT! It was another month when not to much was going and time just passed.
October brought preparations for Halloween. We dressed as the 7 dwarfs from Snow White. We all had tutu's at the request of the girls, so we were interesting dwarfs to say the least. I had surgery that was unexpected but life saving, and it was almost worth it because my bestie came and took care of me and the family for a week. Dan also had a trip to the ER while I was recouping. I thought he was having a heart attack, thankfully he was just extremely dehydrated. After two bags of fluids he was almost as good as new. On Halloween Shelbylyn received her mission call! She will be serving in the Washington Vancouver Mission, she reports to the MTC in Provo on February 4, 2015. October was busy.
November was of course no school November. The girls only had school 14 days the whole month! We took a five day trip to California and took Thea to Hollywood and Knott's Berry Farm. It is one of my favorite places to visit. So relaxing. Of course cruising is my most favorite vacation though.
And now here we are in December. Christmas decorations are up, including our new 12' tree that I LOVE. Shopping has been done, presents wrapped. Shelbylyn celebrated her 19th birthday. Today she is going to the Las Vegas Nevada Temple to take out her endowments. Where has the time gone?
