Disney Wonder Cruise Day 5 Wednesday December 18, 2013 Nassau

Another beautiful day dawned!  Today was an extra special day, our first born baby girl, turned 18!  I am still not sure how it is possible that Shelbylyn is 18!  Everyone got up and got ready to go to breakfast.  While they headed to the buffet, Shelbylyn and I went to guest services so we could get her a Happy Birthday button to wear during the day.

After breakfast we went ashore to do some honest to goodness tourist shopping!  I really mainly just wanted to go to the straw market and pick up some trinkets and woven purses.  Dan really likes to haggle with people over the price of things.  Shelbylyn didn't like the straw market, she said it made her nervous because the "stalls" were too close together.  We were able to find trinkets and things for everyone on our list.  After the straw market we went back to the ship.

We enjoyed the afternoon on Deck 9, with more games of UNO.  Courtney spent lots of time in the pool.  At one point in the afternoon, every 15 minutes a different character would come out to the gazebo for pictures and autographs.  So Courtney would get out of the pool, dry off some, wait in a non-existent line to get her picture taken and then jump back into the pool.  She did this for all of the fab 5 characters...Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto and Chip & Dale.  The teenagers wandered about the ship, doing different activities at the teen clubs.  They would wander to our table on occasion with a fresh ice cream cone or a basket of fries.  At one point Shelbylyn had gone to the restroom and had forgotten her lanyard with her room key there.  Someone turned it into the teen club and they called our room to tell us.  Delanie got the call and came on deck to tell Shelbylyn.  She went to the teen club to pick it up and was surprised with a cute little backpack with sunglasses, pens and some other fun stuff for her birthday!  Love some Disney magic!

It was Pirate Night tonight!  We all wore our matching pirate shirts, pink for the girls and blue for the guys. ( Thanks James!)  It was hard to not know we were a group, but when we had our matching shirts on, it was pretty darn obvious!  Dinner tonight was again in Tritions, but the menu was the Pirates IN the Caribbean.  I had the pot stickers, the Mr. Smee bib salad, the sirloin steak and for dessert the chocolate, banana crepe.  Right before Fitzroy brought out desserts, the head server came over and Fitzroy and  Orlando, along with everyone at our table sang happy birthday to Shelbylyn.  Then like magic Orlando gave Shelbylyn a present.  It was her class ring that she had been asking about for weeks, wondering when it was going to be in.  I hope she was surprised.  She is one lucky girl to have been able to celebrate her 18th birthday aboard the Disney Wonder. (again, THANK YOU James and Sandi )

In the theatre tonight they showed Frozen in 3D.  This was the first time our family had seen the movie.  It of course was wonderful.  It is now on the top of the favorite list for the girls and runs a close second to Beauty and the Beast for me.

After the movie it was time to stake out a place on Deck 10 to watch the Pirate Show and the fireworks!  I had given all the kids glow sticks in their goodie bags, so everyone worked on getting those going.  We danced along to the music and before we knew it the show started.  Good pirates vs. bad pirates, and your just gonna have to take a cruise to find out who wins!  Then for the amazing Disney fireworks..over the ocean!  AMAZING!

Don't mess with a girl and her turkey leg!

After the fireworks we headed down to Beach Blanket Buffet for the midnight Pirate Buffet!  There were yummy tacos, fresh fruit and Courtney's favorite, turkey legs!  The spread of different kinds of desserts was pretty impressive.  After we had stuffed our faces, we all headed off to bed.  This trip has been so much fun, but I for one was definitely not getting enough sleep, and was running on Disney adrenaline.
